In the Footsteps of our Fathers

On this special  new tour through central Italy, we will walk in the footsteps of our fathers and grandfathers who fought in the often forgotten campaign that began in late 1943 in Abruzzo. Mike will take us to the banks of the Sangro River, through small quiet villages and stunning coastline where the Commonwealth Forces from Canada, England, New Zealand and India met the determined resistance of the Germans. Here the great sacrifices of over 70 years ago are not forgotten and we will be welcomed by survivors of the conflict and their descendants all with their personal stories to tell. We will also have time to enjoy village Italy, as we settle back and live like the locals in this unspoiled gem of central Italy. Finally we will cross to the town of Cassino where we will follow the titanic conflict that unfolded there in 1944 before returning to Rome.
